The vineyard takes its name from the Berber Tribe that farms the land on which the grapes are grown, as it has done for decades - grapes that are then masterfully blended by French winemaker Stephane Marriot.
This flavoursome white wine is from near Casablanca, in Morocco - but the inspiration for the five-grape blend certainly comes from the Côtes du Rhône.
One of the grapes is the barely-discovered 'Faranah' which has not yet been planted beyond Morocco's borders and it brings floral and aromatic flavours. The Colombard brings the much-needed acidity, the Chardonnay brings the body, the Grenache Blanc brings a touch of sweetness (though this is a dry wine) and the more delicate Clairette lifts the whole affair up into something quite high brow.
The headline is 'refreshing' - a white wine that will simultaneously quench your thirst but leave you wanting more.
